WB111 was hanging out in the herd until 2020 without anyone realizing she was polled. Alex was giving the cows trace element boluses when his wife Lucy commented “this cow looks polled”. They felt her head, looked at the pedigree tracing back to an original polled cow, pulled some DNA, and looked up her carcase data. Fortunately, she had already had 2 carcases grading BMS 9 and 9+, averaging EMA 110, HSCW 458kg. She came straight into the embryo flush program. She represents a different line in the polls, being the only original polled cow with TF 40/1 in the pedigree. Due to her size, milk and performance, she was crossed with D507. We are super excited about this cross and with the performance on both sides of the pedigree think its bulletproof. An outcross polled bull that can be crossed over fullbloods for genetic diversity, or any Itoshigenami JNR or Bar R 52Y polled progeny without running into any inbreeding issues.
